Since being in Tokyo I have been
unbelievably busy, working for GQ-Magazine several times, had some great
location shoots like penthouses, etc. My favourite shooting was either a TV commercial
I did or when inshore for Burberry Black Label.
There is sooo much to see in Tokyo,
countless parks and gardens, best being Shinjuku Park, Yoyogi Park and Oeno
Park. All which have shrines or temples. They really are beautiful. Tokyo
metropolitan building is free to enter and you get an amazing view or the city
and the size of it all, you can also see Mount Fuji. Lastly I would recommend
the Tsukiji Fish Market, but you have to go down super early, at like 5 or 6 a.m.
to see all the fresh fish getting diced and sold at auction.
The nature and nurture of the Japanese is
warming, welcoming and ever so polite. They have tolerance like I've never seen
before, they embrace you as a foreigner and want to be like a little or big
brother to you. The cleanliness also has much to be admired, no cigarette butts,
no litter, no chewing gum stuck on the floor.
There are so many restaurants to try,
the list is endless. From eating fresh sushi, miso soup, whale, robot
restaurant. You have to do it all to experience Japan.
The fashion world is sort of similar as
it looks up to Europe. However on the street everyone, and I mean everyone is
dressed to impress. Everyone looks super chic.
I spent 45 days in Tokyo, but I enjoyed
it so much I contemplated staying for another month.
