Hair stylist Vili Koderman, better known as Loui Ferry is one of the
most recognized fashion people at all the international fashion weeks. Born in
Slovenian, Vili has been working in London in a world known hair salon for three
years now. He has worked for many big names in the industry so far as Vivienne
Westwood, Roberto Cavalli, Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Givenchy, Victor & Rolf,
Tom Ford and plenty more.
«Working for Mr. Tom Ford in the team of
Sam McKnight in Los Angeles was a really great experience, I had really great
chances to corporate with all top models, stylist and lots of great people in
this industry.». More
specifically, Loui says that work for Mr. Ford was a complete new experience: hair
style was a jump back in the past, with combed up hairdo as a trend coming back
in a new cool dimension this season. Regarding the show instead Loui mentions it
was really great: Tom Ford show took place in LA and it «was really nice to be part of that.».
Furthermore, he also gave us an opinion about TF’s latest collection, in
fact he says he especially does really love the mix of style and colours. How Mr.
Ford greatly combines jackets with jeans and lovely shirts with fresh colours
is just simply amazing. Particularly loved is the seventh exit’s coat which was
really nice and soft. He really knows how to make women look sexy and elegant.
Speaking of his origins, Loui says that he actually does miss Slovenia: «It is my real home and it will always be.
All my old good friends and family are there, that’s what makes me relaxed and
happy when I think about it.». Loui is also a very spontaneous person, so he
doesn’t happen to have the future full scheduled, but «... only three months ago I was thinking of coming back to Slovenia.
Now I just signed with a new agency in LA so I believe I’m moving to LA as soon
as possible.». Loui biggest accomplishment though, would definitely be working
for Interview Magazine for the 45th Anniversary.
He also said that in his opinion, the best city to work in is definitely
Paris, since most of his favourite designers are based and have shows there.
His favourite job so far was the Ted Baker show in London, where he was the
main hairstylist for it. He was only 22 years old and he was doing one of the
best UK brands from London, so he had lots of responsibility and a full team
for his own. In his world and in his life he says he doesn’t see things as bad
or good experiences: «they are only
experiences, because you always learn something from them. I can say I really
enjoyed when I was doing hair for amazing models like Cara Delevingne and David
Gandy. What I didn’t really like in the past was a cancelled flight that made
me miss a shooting for Vogue Italy.».
For all those interested, Loui’s works can be seen in magazines as ID,
Interview, Wonderland, Elle; at Fashion Weeks and on my website. And last but
not least, to the final question “What would you say is the key to success?” he
answered: «Be who you are, work hard and
stay humble.».
