The Coachella Valley Music and
Arts Festival is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire
Polo Club in Indio, California located in the Inland Empire's Coachella Valley
in the Colorado Desert and it happens ever second and third weekend in April
each year. The event features many musical genres, including rock, indie, hip
hop, and EDM - electronic dance music, as well as art installations and
sculptures which are simply outstanding. Across the grounds, several stages
continuously host live music. The main stages are: Coachella Stage, Outdoor
Theatre, Gobi Tent, Mojave Tent, and the Sahara Tent and plenty more added each
year.
Coachella showcases popular and established musical artists, as well as
emerging artists and reunited groups. Notable appearances in the past include: AC/DC,
Amy Winehouse, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, Prince, Paul McCartney, Arcade Fire, Wu-Tang
Clan, The Killers, Radiohead, Daft Punk, Madonna, The Cure, Kanye West, Eminem,
Gorillaz, The Black Keys, Rage Against the Machine, Beck, Nine Inch Nails, The
Strokes, The White Stripes, Jay-Z, Beastie Boys, Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers,
and Foo Fighters. Also DJ Snake, Yellow Claw, Azealia Banks, Alesso, Martin
Garrix, Hozier, David Guetta, Kaskade, Deadmau5, Drake, Florence and the
Machine, The Weeknd, Clean Bandid, Axwell & Ingrosso, Nero and many more.
Coachella is one of the largest, most famous, and most profitable music
festivals in the United States as well as in the whole wide world. In 2014, the
festival tallied an aggregate attendance of 579,000 over six days and grossed a
record-breaking $78.3 million.
Each year it attracts many people from all over the world who come just
because of the location, arts and the line-up as well as the "Coachella
Style". Which means that people spend money on clothes just for the
festival as well as the brands create exclusive collections appropriate just
for the same occasion. For example this year Coachella collaborated with one of
the biggest fashion houses in the world, H&M. They made an exclusive
collection which was sold out in selected H&M stores very soon after the
day it started selling. Girls and guys decide to wear colors, jeans & many
different materials. They decide to dress as they want. That's what I really
like about this, because of this free spirit it became an actual fashion style.
Since I have not been at Coachella yet this information comes from
social media and friends who told me about it all. Therefore Maja and I will
attend the festival next Spring.
