San Francisco is one of the most famous and iconic cities in the United States. It is located in the northern part of California, so its climate is chillier than in Los Angeles.

The city is most famous for its iconic cable cars which take tourists up and down the hills of San Francisco. If you are lucky, you get to see one of the most famous bridges in the world, the Golden Gate Bridge. In the opposite case, you'll see just the fog, which is a constant in the city.

By the bay you get to explore the Fisherman's Wharf and its culinary specialties. Also nearby is the famous Pier 39, from where you can see the most famous historic prison in the US, the Alcatraz. If you want, you can take the boat to the prison and explore its insides.

Back in the centre of San Francisco are many worldwide known shops for the shop-aholics or you can just relax at the Union Square and experience the everyday life of the locals. San Francisco has one of the biggest Chinatowns, located directly in the centre of the city.

As mentioned, the city is full of hills, a must see is a street which locates itself is on one of these hills: Lombard Street, the crookedest street in the world. You can either explore those hills by a cable car or simply on foot.

While in San Fran, you have to visit Alamo Square, where are the Painted Ladies, the famous Victorian houses, which were shown in the iconic TV show “Full House”.

If you are thinking of visiting California, you absolutely have to stop in San Francisco, because it is one of the most beautiful cities, not only in the United States, but also in the world.
