In
this period of the year, while waiting for summer to come, after the whole
Women’s Fashion Week season and right before Men’s Fashion Week’s turn, the
RooMXMatez team had a lovely catch up with 19 years old model Sara Brajko, who
eventually opened up about herself and told us that before
getting scouted she had «just started going to high school. The whole time in middle school I was
quite shy and mostly focused on doing things by myself, but after starting with
high school and eventually with modelling, it helped me a lot with my
personality and getting me out of my comfort zone».

The 19 years old model, who is now signed with Next Models Management in London, Milan and Paris, started
modelling four years ago at the time she
was 15 years old and was scouted by a friend of her mom, who
suggested her to meet a modelling agent. The
thing Sara likes the most about modelling is
travelling, meeting new people and experiencing new things. On the other hand, she
confessed that «working as
a model can’t be always pleasant», and suggests that
«it is important to not
take any critique too personally».
And
speaking of the positive things in this business, when we asked her what day
would she like to relieve if she had the chance to, she mentioned it would be going
to the Philippines to Cebu Island, where she
shot an editorial for a Japanese magazine.
Furthermore, Sara told us that the
most influential person in her modelling
career to date has been Kate Moss: «even before I started modelling I always was inspired by her and how
her beauty is timeless, so I will have to say that she will always be an
influential person for me».
And
as one of Moss’ dreams when she started modelling, being on the cover of Vogue
is a major goal for Sara too. But the way to success is always full of
experiences. To mention a fun thing that happened to her during a photoshoot,
there was that one time when Sara «had
to wear latex boots, so they had to put lubricant all over my legs, so yeah
that was a first one».
Aside
from modelling, Sara told us that her dream country to visit would be
Australia. A trip that she could definitely use as a great point of start of
her studying career. In fact when we asked her what she would be doing for a
living if not modelling, she said «I’m
going to study Architecture and Interior Design in September so hopefully I
will be able to get a job as an interior designer».
As a model she already had the chance to visit multiple cities, as for instance
London, Milan, Paris, or New York, of the whom she said that «it is great when you travel to a
new city and work there for a couple of months, so you can experience living on
your own and knowing your way around the city. It really helped me to get more
independent in an early age».
Sara’s favourite thing to do in her spare-time is
simply hanging out with her friends, who eventually still haven’t affiliated
her a nickname.
As one of the last questions we had the chance to ask
Sara was about how she would compare Milan to London fashion-wise, and she
replied us saying that in «her
opinion, London is more diverse and open minded to new designs and especially
diversity». While last but not least we
guessed her where she would see herself in five years time, as she answered «hopefully living in London,
somewhere in South Kensington, finishing college and living a fabulous life».
