LJUBLJANA FASHION WEEK: A/W 2015/2016

This week was a special week in Ljubljana. In fact from Sunday 12th to Wednesday 15th of April in the heart of the city, right under the castle on Kongresni Trg square Ljubljana Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2015 took place and we were all very excited to be able to take part to it, and even more about plenty of new names in Slovenian fashion that we would have been able to see at the presentations.

DAY ONE

PLETENINE DRAŽ

The opening day was lovely because we got to see three shows, which included the show we were excited about: Pletenine Draž. A really nice collection full of nice colors. A lot of coats and caps and dresses to choose from. If you look closely you can see that there was a lot of work put into designing it all. Our favorite was for sure the red sweater because of the print sown in. Also pretty amazing was where one pocket was put and how it looked on the model.

DAY TWO

ANIKA OPARA & MAJA KRVINA

Anika & Maja are our friends as well as students of the second year of NTF school of design. They presented three pieces that are simply stunning. All of them were black and white. Models were wearing United Nude shoes. «All the time we are willing to find the perfect match, to combine two pieces that can build something bigger, and became stronger together. Maybe it is in our DNA. Like nucleotides we are destined to make strong connections with someone who complete us and can't make the same bond with incompatible ones, no matter how hard we try. We see future in connections, in strong bonds between people where distance as a physical length means nothing anymore.».

MILICA VUKADINOVIC

Milica was a name everyone was talking about right after the shows. Surely a menswear collection in our taste: we loved pretty much all the pieces, especially t-shirts, shorts and jackets. All the details were on point and on all right corners. Loved the detailed black and white shorts. A very urban, youthful and street-style collection: some shopping is definitely needed at this point!

IRINA TOSHEVA

Irina is a Macedonian fashion designer whom we got to meet a few days before the show. We really liked her presentation because it took us directly to a happy place somewhere on the beach in Greece, maybe to Santorini. It was a really fresh summery collection. Different shades of blue and white. Really lovely were the cuts on the skirts and absolutely amazing were the blue prints as well. Our favorite exit was the opening look of the show with the white head piece.

DAY THREE

MATIC VELER

A young designer from NTF school was one of our favorite shows if not the best. Why so? Because he really did not care of what people would have thought nor was he afraid to think out of the box as well as to design out of the box. All of his pieces were really futuristic and wearable. From red head pieces to leather black and white combinations to long leather skirt to swimwear. We could go on forever. Really high-fashion: loved it! Well done Matic!

MAJA FERME

A known brand to RooMXMatez Tm, Maja Ferme show was based on Looney Tunes characters. It was a very classy and elegant collection full of various wearable pieces. From gold to red, from small and big bags to gowns and jackets to cocktail dresses. Really a lot of fantastic pieces. A white gown was the last look in the presentation and to be honest every single person in the room remembered that dress. Also the second to last dress, which was also a gown, was really mesmerizing and we definitely saw a sophisticated lady wearing it to the up-coming Oscars. The clothes were meant to be worn by elegant women with a sense of humor. Obviously our favorite choice would be the men's look, the only men exit in the show, which was simply outstanding and so fresh. I have never seen such a beautifully detailed suit with a touch of pink given by the scarf. Last but not least was the favorite piece of the collection for most of the spectators: the full pink coat with a silver and pink belt.

DAY FOUR

MIRO MISLJEN

Miro is an inspiring Slovenian designer who always wows the crowd with his creations and his complete presentation. First of let’s all focus on the make-up which was different from all the other shows, it was really mesmerizing as well as super youthful and incredibly interesting. His first look was a fantastic simple dark blue dress with white dots, a look-a-like cap and a huge bag with a direct message sprayed on it. Most of his looks were amazing. He also put two dresses on a male model. Not a huge fan of that but yet again he was the only one who actually went there. The collection was inspired by kids in need.

AKULTURA

Probably one of our favorite shows. The reason why was because we absolutely like neon yellow, black and blue combinations as well as leather which is always lovely. The cherry on top were the helmet caps which we surely believe everyone remembers. The show itself did not have that many looks but still was very mesmerizing.

Surely a massive congratulation goes to all the designers who walked the runway at this incredible Fashion Week, which we would like to state as our favorite Fashion Week in Ljubljana so far. Even though we have to admit that we expected something more from some designers, on the other hand we were super glad that plenty of them did not. To close right we’d like to give you a sight of other looks that we particularly liked from different shows. We’re really glad that we had the chance to be present at the presentations: we surely look forward to the next one!
