UNLOCKING THE BASS BEATS
Music has always been one of the most powerful
social movements and has made a great impact on social evolution of mankind– it
has even awoke things that would have never been awoken without it. We can all
agree that electronic music has been at its peak for the past couple of years
and if we can look farther from just one basic electronic song we can notice
that music can give people so much feel that they are able to forget all their
prejudices. With the bigger audience, electronic music grew like a tree with a
whole lot of branches. As
Roomxmatez loves young enthusiasts we would love to share an inspirational
story about the establishment of a successful record label. We have gotten the chance to get more into
the heavy part of electronic music and introduce you to one of the most
promising, upcoming record labels responsible for bass music (Dubstep, Trap,
Glitch Hop, Drum & Bass, Drumstep etc.) - BEATLOCK RECORDS.
One
of the CO-founders Levi KieĂźling gave me the inside scoop of all of their ideas
and their story. A small idea that was
primarily shared by two internet friends, Levi KieĂźlingand Dougie Silkstone, grew into a bigger
family sharing the love for bass music.
«You
can call it a dream that is slowly coming true - a small family project that
went from 0 to 100...without any "premonition"...».
It
all began when Dougie and Levi met on Facebook through networking groups, such
asthe "EDM Bedroom Producer". After a few chats, Dougie and Levi both
agreed that they have the same targets and the same passion for music so they
started setting up the first needed resources for the record label. «We are probably the smallest team (a shoutout to Reece Jones & Adam Curnow
at this point - two friends that always helped improving Beatlock at different
points) behind a record label with A THATGOOD reach.».
In
April 2015 Beatlock Records had its debut release with Jake Bretell aka
"SKEIZ" and his filthy Dubstep "Lobsters EP", which
directly charted on the BeatportDubstep Top 100 - from this point on the "unreachabledream" Beatlock Records became more than only
reachable.
With a good start their vision has been to present
the audience a
collection of filthy, heavy hitting music and not only to sell the music."We
LIVE the music" that is why besides the releases they have a great
focus on keeping their fans in the loop with weekly podcasts etc.
«Also
our vision is to find new artists for the scene - there are so many underrated
artists out there, especially in the Dubstep/Bass Music scene and we want to
give those underrated artists the chance to reach the audience they deserve.».
That is why the Beatlock records team considers
themselves as a family, where communication is a MUST!
The fascinating part that shows their dedication to
bass music and their strong hard work is also their connecting with gamers on
YouTube. «We love working together with
YouTubers of all kind and support their videos with High Quality Bass Music.».
Their hard work is definitely paying of, that is
why they also have many goals to reach in the future– one of them, for the
season 2016/2017,
is their own live tour through the UK and possibly other parts of Europe.
«We already accept
submissions for Bass Music DJs/DJanes via radio@beatlockrecords.net in case anyone wants to join that exciting
journey.».
Their
long-term goal is also to "combine" Beatlock’s tasks as a
"RECORD LABEL" with the tasks of a "BOOKING AGENCY" - «We already reached support by EDM.com, have
several chart-entries on Beatport, so now we want to "throw the shit
live", as one of our artists said it.».
By
the uprising growing success their fan base is getting bigger every day, that
is why they have decided to establish a radio show, where the fans could keep
in touch with them every week.
"Beatlock
Radio" was founded in April 2015, and published together with Skeiz'
"Lobsters EP" - «First of all
it was just a test for future plans with Mixcloud, but it was a lot of fun
doing it and after I had my friend and producer Oliver Bernsvall as guest in
the show we kept moderating the show weekly as duo and Beatlock Radio quickly
became one of the most listened "newcomer shows" on Mixcloud with
weekly Top 3 positions in the radio-ranking.».
Beatlock
Radio showcases all about Bass Music, the newest releases on Beatlock Records
and also a lot of philosophy «We
think the key to success of our show is "being real" – me and Oliver
always just sit in front of our computers and start recording, being ourselves
– that is how it works and people love it.».
Thrilled
withthe enthusiasm of the team I started to wonder. Was Beatlock becoming a new
European movement taking bass music to the next level? Their collaboration with
Fat Cat Festival brought them a great opportunity to meet new artists and DJs
of the scene - «Just for example we met
the DJ Duo WRECKVGE via Fat Cat Festival and just a few weeks ago one half of
the duo (DJ Architect) released his debut single on Beatlock Records. Fat Cat
was and is one of many "resources" that are useful to get Beatlock on
European range.».
«A good thing is that
we have many artists signed to Beatlock, coming from many different countries
all over Europe and even countries outside of Europe. One of our best producers,
"Dazkol" for example moves from Italy to the UK to work even stronger
together with our CEO Dougie - I am very sure when I say
Beatlock is a new way to connect talented Bass Music artists all over Europe», says Levi.
And
for all of you fans of bass music and producers of bass music, I have great
news for you. Beatlock Records is open for new music of the above named
genre-fields. You can reach them out on their Facebook page (where you can find
a DEMO SUBMISSION field) listed under links below or via demos@beatlockrecords.net.
- «But please do not expect a kind reply
when sending Big Room music.».
Don’t
forget to subscribe and follow Beatlock Records on Facebook, Soundcloud and
Mixcloud and on https://pro.beatport.com/label/beatlock-records/47940.

Oke so I read a part,, well Levi and Dougie didnt began it lol, Michael York Dougie Silkstone and me met through EDM Bedroom Producers and mike posted to start a label and we started with EDM Bedroom Nation, and I involved Levi to the team, but mike and me got forgotten, since Dougie and Levi are a bit of smartasses. Well lets just leave it to this (not mentioning their scam on us) oops just mentioned it.
