For next Fall/Winter 2016, Michael Kors presents
a clothing line and accessories collection, which can be used for both the time
spent in the city and on the mountains: sportive blends together with elegant
in a collection rich of hybrid and extremely versatile pieces. Ties are worn
with hairy cardigans, the elegant trench coat matches with trekking shoes,
suits are relaxed and deconstructed, the wool fabrics are adopted to knit
high-performances jumpers and pullovers, and so they are perfectly suitable for
being used in cold environments. Through the collection, we also find fur
applied onto coats and parkas, as well as onto accessories like hats and
backpacks. The colours palette is made out of neutral colours, as black, camel
and white, altogether mixed with some touches of red.

Michael Kors
Men’s FW16 collection presented at New York Fashion Week Men’s plays on the
concept of versatile hybridization from a man that bounces pretty fast from the
city to the ski runs. Anoraks and pea coats, coats and waterproof sportive
jackets, mix with knowledge and elegance a defined athletic mood. Turtlenecks
and cashmere sweatshirts matched with pants and trekking shoes and again the
camel coat, parkas, flannel pullovers and pants. The proportions and textures
game adds a urban and modern touch to the collection.
Kors
presented a winter line-up conceived for a
stylish and dynamic man, who loves to spend the cold days of winter on the
slopes. Infusing into the whole collection an idea of relaxed luxury, the New
York-based designer reinvents this season the timeless camel coat, revamping
this classic number with a modern and functional attitude, while the outerwear
styles are certainly the collection’s strongest pieces, often revamped with
furs. Playing with a palette of classic and quite “safe” colours, like camel,
grey and black, the designer provides an interesting winter collection, filled
with wearable and covetable pieces.
«From the city to the slopes, this
season lends a sport luxe appeal to the 24/7 lifestyle. Sleek meets sporty, versatile hybrid outerwear.
The cropped anorak pea coat, the utility reefer. Relaxed unstructured
suiting, classic buffalo checksand tattersalls, textural tweeds and
tigrado shearlings. Tactile fur and camel hair, sumptuous teddy bear knits.
High-performance wools for a fast-paced life, from water-repellent outerwear to
wind-resistant, crinkle-proof suiting, the next generation of menswear proves
style and comfort shouldn’t have to depend on the weather. The urban ski pant, cosy cashmere sweats, a mix
of neutrals. Quilted scarves and trapper hats, streamlined backpacks and
duffels. The big city hiking boot, a more rugged alternative to the sneaker, this
hiking boot translates from the city to the country with ease. The modernist leather phone lanyard. The check
coat, pay attention: plaid is officially back in the spotlight, and a fur-trimmed
Chesterfield checks all the boxes. The fur backpack, the urban
backpack gets an elevated update with fur, lending a textural element to the
sleek design. The off-piste ski pant, a
sophisticated spin on the athleisure trend, this slim wool panties a winter
weather must-have. Nylon quilting, from a bomber to a duffel bag, quilted athletic
shapes add edge to the classic shirt and tie. Together they’re the twin set for
the modern man.».
«Michael Kors took hybrids to new heights for his fall collection
designed to take a man from the city to the mountains. The New York-based
designer mashed together anoraks and pea coats, blazers and sport coats,
raincoats and suits in this sleek, athletically rooted offering. With fur as
one of the leading trends on the European runways, Kors had his own version,
reinventing the Chesterfield coat in full-length rabbit. “I love fur,” he said.
The statement piece was minimized by pairing it with an elongated cashmere
turtleneck, matching sweatpants and hiking boots. The pants were skinny and,
keeping with the hybrid theme, were “halfway between a track and a cargo”. Noting
that “I never met a camel coat I didn’t love,” Kors offered up a boiled jersey
cropped trench with raw edges. Other camel pieces included a cropped peacoat
with detachable fur hood and a fur-trimmed twill parka, paired with a hand-knit
pullover and flannel hiking pants. A highlight was a hybrid
puffer parka in charcoal flannel needle-punch down worn over a
matching vest and shown with black stretch wool ski pants. The play on
proportions and textures added a modern urban touch to the strong
item-driven and retail-friendly collection».
