A STYLED NATION

By Friday, January 08, 2016

Right few days after stepping in the new year, after the annual last minute Christmas gifts shopping rush, the RooMXMatez team would like to style up your Winter season with a triple do-not-miss appointments, starting today and ending up right before the end of the month. We surely won’t reveal the specific content of each article we’re about to post out, but what you’re allowed to know is that they’ll provide you very chic ideas on how-to-fashion your feast days.

We’ve just officially left Autumn to enter the proper Winter time, even though in many cities it’s still so warm, it doesn’t even look like Winter. With or without any trace of snow, we’re sure that the Christmas spirit surely hasn't let you down. Wanna know why? Even tho Holidays are now officially over, we're officially entering Men's Fashion Week season, which started today in London with London Collections: Men. So our suggestion is even more vivid: keep on reading our blog posts throughout these weeks and you’re surely gonna find out the best way to make your re-start days at work sparkle and shine of beauty and fashionable mesmerizing looks.

We’re starting today with some styling suggestions, inspired by one of our latest, long-awaited shootings we did a while ago, wearing nothing less but some pieces from the awesome collaboration between Parisian high fashion icon Balmain and the always fresh and trendy Swedish brand H&M. Presented with an amazing fashion show held in New York not long before the products have been put in stores and online on last November 5th, the collection created an awesome trending. In fact, all the pieces were sold out few hours after they’ve been put available for the clients. How to blame it: who wouldn’t want a high fashion brand’s piece for a very acceptable price? Yes, the trend was real: «H&M allows me the unique possibility of bringing everyone into the world of Balmain, get a piece of the dream and create a global #HMBalmaination: a movement of togetherness, fueled on a hashtag. The collaboration felt extremely natural to me: H&M is a brand that everybody connects to. It calls for unity, and I am all for it», says Olivier Rousteing, Creative Director of Balmain.

Stripes have taken over the latest seasons for a more nautical yet marine look. The way Balmain reinterpret this theme is even more attractive. It’s no longer just vertical or horizontal: angular, v-shaped, almost-psychedelic layouts is the way to go. As this sort of prints/knits piece has to be the center of your look, combining it with black (skinny) pants is the right thing to do. To notice are the lovely military/royal alike silver buttons on one shoulder. And why not adding a bit of freshness, mixing the marine look with an old black round hat? To complete the look, you might want to wear something that gives a bit of colour to the whole black and white ensemble. Don’t run too far off though! Let’s stick together to the marine staples by choosing a (well needed) long olive green parka, which you wanna wear over your shoulders or simply left opened, not to cover Balmain’s masterpiece. Sneakers are the right combination: black with white details will finish off your look majestically.

Strong yet very chic. That’s the perfect start for your 2016, to always look stylish even on an everyday basis, while at work counting the days left for summer vacation or while rushing through the thousand things left to do after Christmas.

Stay tuned for our triple style appointments during these months, plus some special hints for lovely trip destinations. Happy New Year to you and your beloved ones and have you all a RooMXMatez 2016.
